Annual Golf Classic Drives in Record Support for Student Scholarships

Held at a local Long Island golf club, the outing featured a full field of foursomes, a lunch reception, on-course contests, and an evening awards dinner.

Golfers competed for prizes including longest drive and closest to the pin, while sponsors' banners lined the fairways in recognition of the local businesses that made the day possible. Between rounds, participants swapped stories about their time on campus and caught up with classmates and former professors who came out to support the event.

"Every year this event grows a little more, and so does its impact," said the Foundation's Director of Alumni Engagement. "The dollars raised here go directly toward scholarships that help our students stay in school and finish what they started."

Proceeds from the Golf Classic support the Farmingdale State College Foundation's scholarship fund, which assists students across the College's schools of engineering technology, business, arts and sciences, and health sciences. Organizers thanked returning sponsors and volunteers, many of whom have supported the tournament for multiple years running, and encouraged alumni interested in playing or sponsoring next year's outing to reach out to the Alumni Relations office.
